East Asia : Occupational Therapist

Join a nonprofit organization in East Asia that seeks to be a part of economic and spiritual development by shining the light of Christ through the utilization of our professional skills. Our organization works in partnership with local government and other groups in medical, agricultural, educational, consulting, and other public health benefit programs.

Rehabilitation professionals are needed to work with a group of 3-12 year old orphans with severe intellectual and physical disabilities.

The work of the occupational therapist includes reviewing each child's OT plan: assessing the child's progress over the previous 6 months, altering their OT plan to reflect any improvements or needed shift in focus. The carers then need to be trained on how to implement the OT regime. Wider trainings to the orphanage staff are also required.

This opportunity is typically for two weeks every year, available in both March and September.

Certified occupational therapist. Preferably a pediatric OT with specialization or at least experience in disability. Some Mandarin would be ideal.
