Austria : Refugee Care Team Member


Use your interpersonal skills to help refugees cope with trauma and extreme change, guiding them toward stability by sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and giving practical help in a ministry team; counselors would be helpful here.  


High School graduate, a  minimum of conversational level skill in Farsi, Russian, Polish, Chinese, Spanish, Turkish, or Arabic.  A basic understanding of related culture and religion (e.g. Farsi-Persian Culture and Islam). 

An ability to translate on the street, in refugee camp settings, in train stations; courage (not afraid of unusual or uncomfortable situations); self-control of emotions (empathy without becoming attached to or overwhelmed with need). 

Language school would be required.  It depends on the length of term, but up to two years of study is required for long term.
